    Tire Size Thoughts

I'm finally ready to make the change from the 6.70x15 bias ply to a radial. I'm thinking of Michelin - because I've had good luck with them on daily drivers. I want to keep the general appearance as close to original as possible, therefore don't think I want a tire that is significantly wider than necessary.

    The 6.70x15 would be about a 170/75.

I drive the car 1,000 - 1,500 miles per year.

Any thoughts, comments, or real life experiences?

    It is a stock '62 250HP.

    Thanks,

If you check the archives you will find a lot of information on tire selections and reccomendations for your car. I believe the closest size to your original tire would be 205 75. The rev per mile is the same so your speedometer will work correctly.

Go with 205/75's. No rub issue and LOTS more rubber on the road. Bill..
