I have installed Hushmat and I am ready to install Al Knoch carpeting in my 64 convertible. I do not have any carpet, original or otherwise to copy off of. I have an AIM and a third addition 63-64 judging guide....I have ordered the newest edition which I have not received yet. I have test fitted all pieces several times, laid them out in the sun etc and have read all of the suggestions about measuring twice and cutting once (minimally etc). I have searched archives and still need a few things cleared up.
Does the rear wiring harness run along the top hump or the second hump down in the rear compartment on the driver's side?
On the wheelwells, when the three pieces overlap, do I glue the piece that is on top of another to the piece of carpet under it, or do I just glue each piece to the floor and let the overlapping flap just lay on top of the one below it?
I am especially interested in seeing detailed photos of the following areas:
1. rear wheel wells with a close up of the front and back edges
2. front and back side of luggage stop carpet, does it extend horizontally onto the horizontal lip of the jack compartment or does it stop on the vertical and simply rest on the lip? Where it goes over the little top lip, does it rap/tuck tightly to follow the the lip in the back or does it just rap/tuck tightly over the top and straight down towards the jack compartment? Need a pic of the ends where the triangular "flaps" go over the luggage stop.....do they wrap behind lip or just go over lip and glue to the rear floor?
3. front foot wells where they meet the firewall insulation and side vents
4. outboard piece in front that goes under sill plate....need a shot of the rear of it where the binding wraps around rear door jam and goes under door sill plate.
5. carpet cut outs for seat rails.
6. rear wiring harness routing
Any suggestions, links, photos etc would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Tim
