    Frame looks ok to me

My frame is cleaned up and painted and looks pretty good. (from 20 feet!)
There was no rust damage that I saw anywhere on it.
I pulled the king pins apart today and started cleaning up the parts for it. Found some orange paint on the drivers side. I have yet to find the NOS king pin kits I want for it. PN 603386. Anyone have a couple they want to sell? Moog would be ok too. I dont know the PN for Moog. Anyone have that?
Also got pictures from my machine shop of some small stress cracks on one head where the head bolts go. Caused by repeated removal and re install of the heads they say. Easy fix for them. They will be resurfacing my flywheel also for me.

Making some progress, moving forward at least!

David, did you clean the frame yourself or send it out? It looks good. I just had my front suspension rebuilt with a kit from Paragon. Also needed the lower control arms.

Did it all myself John. The frame is extremely solid with no rust of any significance anywhere. Paint stripper and a sander got it to clean bare metal. 2-3 coats of rust inhibitor, 4-5 coats of primer, 6-7 coats of finish chassis black. As well as it finished out, these frames are pretty crude. You can see many places where the welders scratched their welding rods to start the weld. Lot of slag left on the welds and lots of welding that could have been done better. But, hey, it has held together good so far.
My front end is cleaning up good too. Shopping for bushings and king pins to put it back together with. Hoping to replace with NOS parts. I didn't like what I saw on my friends '61 from Paragon.

David, There is also a kit in the new Corvette Central catalog for rebuilding the front end.
