    1963 Power steering unit

I am just finishing a new frame resto on my buddy's '63. All suspension is now installed. I am going to replace hoses on the power steering pump/control valve and will be taking pictures to ensure I get the hoses back properly. Is there a procedure I need to use to bleed the system/pump after I put new fluid in the pump? Thanks to all for your input.

    Doug,
For the most part the system is self bleeding. I like to fill the reservoir, and start the motor. Then turn the steering wheel back and forth from lock to lock a few times. I then check and add fluid as needed. Sometimes it takes a while to get ALL the air out, and I have found driving to get the pump running at a higher RPM can be advantageous.

I have always turned it to lock, with the engine running, leave it there for a minute or so, and then turn it to the opposite lock, repeating that several times.
