This is only the 3rd C-coded body that I can remember having seen in 30 years; ended up on convertible 02727; a current eBay listing. One other was a coupe C13, A-507; ended up on VIN 02865.
What's the story on Ionia building 1965 Corvette bodies while the rest of GM was on strike since about Sept 27th 1964, with St.Louis finally going back about November 6th ?
Both the '65 TIM&JG and the Trim Tag Authentication Library say that October would have been C-coded bodies and the production of cars was zero, for that month; ie. they don't say there should be no C-coded bodies -- there is a subtle difference.
Sounds like when the GM-wide strike ended on Oct 6th, Dow-Smith resumed building Corvette bodies, until somebody tapped them on the shoulder. Maybe only a few days production until they realized that there was nobody to off-load at St.Louis
