    427 Hood Emblem 67 BB

    Can someone explain the "pencil" test I have heard about regarding the height of the 4 - 2 - 7 . I found something about the " 7 " being 1/32" lower than the 4 and 2, but am unclear if that is what the "pencil" test shows.

    Yes, James, that is true.
    Judges will lay their pencil on top of the "4" & "2", if the numbers are positioned in the TFP configuration, the "7" will be about 1/32" lower showing the obvious uniform gap below the pencil.
