    C2 front bumper bracket spacers

Can someone tell me the correct plating for the four spacers used on the two center front bumper braces? Long Island sells them in black phos whereas Paragon offers them in a silver plating of some sort.

    Thanks.

I'd go with silver / cad plated

Since the bolts & nuts associated with the spacers are black phosphate, that's what I would go with. But, does it really matter? Once installed, they can't be seen.

        Thanks guys for the replies.

Jim, I know they are not seen, but you know how anal we can be about this stuff. I put inspection marks on my chassis before body drop that won't be seen until the next guy pulls the body. It's just what we do, isn't it?

You can see them and if not what judge expects you will get dinged, I did and even knew the wrong one's were there so all I could say was YUP.
Now I do not know what they should be for all C2's, but 64s (at least one Mar64) are black.

Black phosphate or similiar is correct for these bolts and spacers.

And, counter-intuitively, the nuts go on the outboard ends of the bolts.

I bought 8 NOS spacers from a Chevrolet dealer back in 1980 and they were black phosphate. I believe I still have 4 NOS spacers somewhere in a box in my garage attic.

Tony, mine are nickle plated and I got dinged in Iowa for that. The judges said they should be black.

Thanks guys. Hopefully it will also be spelled out in the upcoming new 65 JG.
