    62 window crank

I just purchased a 62 and one the few things I need to locate is a window crank for the passenger side. I've checked all the different venders and all I come up with are non USA part ranging from $10-15.. Does anyone happen to have a source for one of these. I've been searching the driveline but haven't seen anything.

Nice original or NOS window cranks show up on e bay and can get pricey. NOS run anywhere from $40.00 to $100.00 each but they will fit . A lot of the Chinese made repo cranks have a sloppy fit , some even fall off so I try to stay with the GM parts. Goos luck with your search. Rich

Call a few of the Drive Line sellers who say they have a ton of parts.

Vette Gal often has restored window regulators for C1s. I actually restored mine in my 1960 myself. The large regulator gear is reproduced but the other parts, the small parts in the crank are hard to find. I managed to get the parts and do the restore myself by watching ebay and doing other web searches.

There are some who do the restoration service, e.g. Paragon, but they will not sell the parts, just will do the rebuild if you have your existing ones.

After owning, restoring and driving my 59 for over 24 years, 3 years ago I was is the passenger seat working on something preparing for the 07 Regional here in FL. I looked over at the drivers door. I said "What!". My window crank wasn't the correct one, must've been a pass car crank. It was different from the pass side, which was the correct type. I had just bought 2 boxed nos cranks for my 62. I will not tell you how much I paid for the 2 of them.

I located another nos crank on ebay for my 59, and paid more than the single piece price of the pair I bought.

FYI, the originals have a 3 (or 4?) leaf clover on the back side of the handle stem. Repros do not. When you find someone who has a nos, just make sure it's the real thing.
