      I drilled a small hole in the housing then zip tied the lever in the up position.

        Seems simple enough. I looked at mine last evening and, although I don't feel I need any further changes, I could see how a simple 2" x 4' above the door at the center - say 10" long could keep any wire out, specially a blind attempt as I don't have any windows. Interesting.
