The tail lights work OK as do the stop lights. The right turn signal works fine but when clicking the left signal, it causes the front and rear lights to turn on but not flash. I have replaced the bulb, checked the wiring but cannot find the problem. Any suggestions?

Re: '57 Turn signal inoperative on left side
had same problem with my 57 last year. i'd installed a repo wiring harness. after hours of diagnostics, it turned out the pair of wires that feed the left rear tail-light were installed backwards. simply swapped the positions of the pair of wires and all was well. good luck.mike- Top

Re: '57 Turn signal inoperative on left side
Mike: I appreciate the tip. The plastic connector on the inside of the tail light is a plastic one that I think is non-standard. I disconnected it and turned it 180 degrees. Guess what? All is fine. I must have put it in the wrong way when I was working on things in the trunk. Now I just have to put everything back together. These '57s are a bit crude and difficult to work on at times.- Top
