70 minor body repair to BC CC

I have a couple areas where the guy that painted the car did not finish the body work to my satisfaction.

The two main areas are under the front side of the rear bumpers. Once I remove the paint, what should I use for filler? There are no cracks just some rough areas.

Car was painted BC CC with PPG Global paint in original classic white.

Advice on best way to remove bumpers without scratching the paint would be very helpful too. I want to get all the minor issues cleared up before I color sand and buff it out.

    Thanks, Bill

    Hi Bill,
Sorry, I can't help on your paint touch-up.
To be safe I think the bumper removal and re-installation is a 2 person job. One person to support the bumper and move it straight back as the other loosens the bolts. I'd put some painters tape on the fiberglass on the 4 sides of the mounts and also on the valance where the support rod passes through it.
    Regards,
    Alan

Here's an example of how I'd use the tape at each mount, Better safe than.... you know.

      Very wise advise Alan.

I may ask my son to help with pulling the bumper. I also noticed, after 5 years that the passenger side original bumper might be twisted. Hmmm. The car was never hit on that side and the rear driver's side has a very minor repair from some time ago. Can you make adjustment on the rear bumpers? Looks like the out board side is higher than the inboard side. Said another way, when looking from the back the left side is lower than the right.

I know we are not far away from one another Alan. Maybe this is the year we meet at Jimmy cone in Mt Airy.

      Thanks, Bill

        Hi Bill,
Yes, we DO need to meet up and not let another Summer slip by.
There is SOME adjustment possible in aligning the rear bumpers. The holes for the bolts through the rear panel are large enough to allow a little movement and the brackets are adjustable too.
        Regards,
        Alan
