    c1 spindles shot or not?

I'm disassembling the front end on my 59 in order to rebuild it -- well really I'm disassembling the entire car, but that's another story :P
I'm concerned about the spindles. The spindles look OK for the most part, but they've seen some abuse. There's a gouge near the end on one, and some dents in the side of the other. Could you guys look at the pics and let me know if they will be OK or I need one or both spindles replaced? Also, is there any info on what the tolerances are? I can't find it in the ST-12. Would this say in a 54 passenger car manual?

      Ian and Mike------

I agree. The only damage I see is in completely non-critical areas. It does look like some of the threads toward the inner end MIGHT be slightly damaged. However, it might be just how they appear in the photo. I'd carefully run a die onto the threads just to be sure.

I don't know where to get dimensional specs on the spindle. I don't think you'll find it in a Chevrolet Service Manual, though.

The threads seem OK. I can run a die on it no problem. I was thinkign I might need to file the edge of the one near the threads a bit at minimum as I tested the bearing inner race that would sit there and it catches a bit. I'm just concerned, because additionally various bearing races on the front are scored and pitted and all will need to be replaced.
