    C3 (1973) Tach issue

My tach works fine until it gets to be 90 degreesF or hotter outside. When the car sits for a short time in the heat (5 to 20 minutes) the tach will stop working. When the car gets on the road again it will take from 15 minutes to 30 minutes before the tach starts to jump (though not much) and then resumes normal operation. Any ideas?

I would remove the drive unit and check all the parts for wear. The end of the cable may be rounded. Re lube and reinstall to see if the problem is gone.

Thanks, Lyle, for your quick response. I'll work on that and let you know what I find.
