I Have Stripped The Paint From My Lt-1 In Preparation For Painting. The Drivers Door Has A Dark Line On The Outside All Along The Bottom Of The Door, And Part Way Up The Back Side. It Appears Almost Greasy. All I Can Surmise Is That Some Sort Of Penetrating Oil Was Sprayed Liberally Inside The Door, And It Has Leached Through To The Outside. I Tried Sanding It Out, But It Has Soaked Through The Entire Panel. Is There Anyway To Remove This, Or Do I Need To Replace The Entire Skin? Thanks, Mark

Mark, I successfully removed refrigerant oil (A/C compressor seal leak) from the hood of my 67 by using a heat lamp to speed the leaching oil to the surface then wipe the oil away with a lacquer soaked rag. After doing this process 6 or 7 times there was no evidence of any oil left. This was done with a stripped hood a few years back. The hood was repainted and today there is still no evidence of oil or paint problems.
