Anyone here loose a pencil in March of 1959?........
After removing the nose of "Bride of Frankenstein"...more pics here:
I noticed this artifact of the body build. Someone left it on the little shelf before attaching the side fender. If you own it let me know and I'll send it to you.
Also took some photos of views you don't normally see..... of the fender and rocker reinforcements. These are aluminum, which changed to steel later in the MY. On the long rocker reinforcement, there are a combination of spaced code characters in red stencil. It appears to be reading:
Reynolds
Aluminum * AN - 327 6061 - T6 QQ -A
or something close like that.

I like old wooden boats as much as Corvettes, but my heart is in the fiberglass(cars that is)......easier to get in one and go for a spin. Boats are fun too but harder to have fun with, don't have windshield wipers, and can sink. Almost lost a 22' '48 Chris Craft Sportsman in a lake that had been in salt water earlier in it's life. The prop shaft log silicon bronze screws turned into nails from electrolysis.
I'm thinking of leaving it in there for posterity when I install the new front end fg.
