Front Bumper Mounting To Body

I noticed that 1 of my 67'S had rubber washer/grommets between the bracket & body. My others including my 400/air Top Flight car did not. I assume that there were none. Seems like there should be something between the bracket & the paint. Was there a reason not too.?

It's easier and cheaper for GM not to.Rubber washers sounds like a better idea!

Have used these many times on C-2's and 3's. Nice body buffer and hardly noticable.

Many times I have cut a small piece of old bicycle tire inner tube in a square pattern close to the size that rubs up against the cars body. Thin enough not to be seen but just thick enough to not allow the body to be damaged and acts as a cushion against cracking. Three top flight awards and no one has ever seen them. Gary

I bought a set of paint savers from Corvette Central . That is what they do is guard the paint against scratching when installing the bumpers. Tom
