Auto transport

I need advice, if there is any, on what transport broker or company to use. I need to move my 90 corvette convertible from Apple Valley California, near San Bernardino, to Spoakane Washington, The car drives. I have been quoted from 550 to 700, but I do not get real good feelings when I talk to these guys so a reccommendation is better than blind luck.

Reliable Auto Carriers is the best one I have ever used. I am sure they are not the cheapest, but I have never heard of any complaints about them either.

Calvin, there are numerous posts the past year on this topic with alot of great recommendations. I have used Passport Transport a dozen times with no issues and Reliable is also excellent. Check recommendations from members who I am certain will chime in here. A number of carriers also advertise in Hemmings. In addition to recommendations carefully look over the carrier's insurance and damage history, if they cover the car during enclosed transport, lay-overs - how long and where, the types of cars they specialize in (drivers versus collector/vintage), etc. The best barometer will likely be recommendations from the TDB.

I just had Intercity Lines deliver a 68 coupe. Very pleased. The driver gave us his cell to stay in touch. Delivered on the day suggested. Called a week later to check on service. Highly reccomended. Jeff

Here's a second endorsement for InterCity Transport. They hauled my 61 from Austin Texas to home here in Northern California. Always kept me in the loop for status updates. Will use them again.

No persoanal experience but a friend had a car delivered from Ohio by Fed-Ex. He noted all the positives that others listed, FWIW. Have fun!!

FedEx is the owner of Passport Transport and has been for a few years since they bought the company from Robert Pass. We are fortunate to have so many good carriers out there. I stay with the top carriers as there is no question as to their quality of service.

I had a 65 delivered from Rhode Island to Central Florida by DeMoise Trucking and had exceptional service. Car was delivered ahead of schedule in perfect condition. I spoke with Bill DeMoise personally and would not hesitate to use again.

I haved used all of the major carriers but Passport Transport / Fed Ex has always been great. The only issue is they usually promise you a pick up date and you can usually bank on them being a day or so behind. That goes for about any shipping company. Just my experience, but I've shipped a ton of 'em.

Fed X, Intercity, Reliable, Sunday, and Horseless Carriage all will provide you expert service. Rates and service areas can vary somewhat. I usually recommend Horseless Carriage since the owner, Frank Malatestra (sp) is also a car collector.

I used them several years ago. I had them bring the yellow ZL1 from the National Corvette Museum to my show here at BUDS in Ohio. No problems, good service.

Yes, I used them to transport my 70 to me a long distance and was very happy with them. Communicated well with me, had a checksheet signed by the seller as to what flaws were on the car when it left the seller, and the car seemed to be well secured for the trip.

I agree! We hired Reliable to transport our '62 Impala 409 from LA to Illinois. It was at my garage in 3 days!!!

There are a couple of Transporters that advertise in the Driveline. Might want to consider Vendors that support the NCRS.
