    AC hood shield

Where can I purchase a shield that bolts to my '67 factory C60 compressor to keep it from slinging oil onto the underside of the hood?

E-mail Kevin at ultimatehobby@yahoo.com. He has what you need. Price is reasonable. Located in Ohio.

Pictures etc are on corvette forum, C2 parts for sale section. Search under his forum name of "nitromainia".

These AC covers are a new design and have just recently been made available. Should fit all A-6 compressors.

I get the driveline and called myself going through the last issue but couldn't find the ad. Can you give me the page or name of vendor?
            Thanks

To the best of my knowledge, there is only ONE current supplier for the A-6 compressor shield. And this shield has just been produced and made available for sale. I provided his name and contact link above.

                Re: AC hood shield

This is from my earlier posting on building a shield. It is easy to fabricate and inexpensive. Have about 10 years of service now from mine.

The shield is pretty easy to make. Years ago I posted here on how I made mine, I tried looking in the archives of my post and have so far went up to page 96 looking.
Anyway I made mine for my 1970 out of what I found in my garage.
Took two pieces of what I call strap metal about a inch wide for the braces. Drilled a hole in each end of the two pieces and mounted them on my air conditioner compressor. Just looking at the compressor you can figure out where you should mount the straps with compressor's original bolts.
Then I put a 90 degree bend in each and cut them where I wanted in length that would extend over the compressor pulley.
Drilled two holes in each brace to install rivets.
Used some aluminum flashing, cut it and rounded the corners. Rivetted the flashing to the braces and I had a shield.
Painted it black on both sides and it has been on the 1970 for a number of years now.
Really a very easy project. A person could get fancy by buying a sheet of stainless steel or aluminum for fabrication. The thin aluminum flashing was very inexpensive since I already had it and has held up well.
