I looked into roller rockers for my L72 a while back. I got the impression that their main advantage is they're eye candy. Precious little to be gained from a performance standpoint. I decided to go with the stock rockers. They will work fine at any RPM my engine will see, with excellent reliability. But, hey, it's your engine, do what makes you happy.

Duke: Heads were massaged and ported but not flow tested. As for what I'm trying to accomplish, I'm just trying to keep things cosmetically stock for judging purposes. I cannot go backwards and throw away my energizer alum Crane Roller Rocker Arm sets, with 500 miles on them. As Joe L stated they are more than acceptable, quite robust and will outlast my lifetime.

The issue was making them work with my stock VC. Thus I can report today that doubling up TWO Fel-Pro Cork Lam gaskets with copper RTV's together, a little orange paint on the outside edges, drippers bent over laterally and NO Noise !! Now the engine runs very well and looks stock too. Ofcourse the bolts need to be longer, and I already satisfied this by going to a machinist cutting off the "TR" headmark and precision screwing and welding them into a longer bolt. Externally ofcourse all you see is "TR".
