The 68 doesn't use the vacuum switch under the pass side wiper to ensure the wipers are seated down before the doors close, as the later 69-72 years do. So, what is supposed to do this function on 68's??? My system works properly in all other functions except when I turn the switch off the door wants to close on the wipers before the wipers are completely stowed down. I can use the door overide to keep it from happening, but I'd like to get it to function properly. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Gary

Re: 68 wiper door closes on arms??
Something is not working correctly with your set up.
My 68 wiper door does not close until the wipers have parked themselves.
, no matter when I turn them off. The door always stays open until the wipers are fully down in the parked position, and only then does the wiper door close.
Likewise when I turn them on, the wipers do not move until the door is open to prevent the wipers from hitting the door.
Look in your wiring diagram, there is a switch somewhere that is not functioning properly.
I don't remember where it is but it may be the switch on the firewall near the vacuum canister that operates the wiper door.
