How is the best way to get the staples lined up to go through the outer fender staple holes? The holes are so small that it seems it is almost impossible to get them through there. Is there any easy way to do it?Please advise Tom Stanton #41491

Re: 65 dust shield install ?
Tom, you can tape or descreetly glue the shield in place, drill through it with a 1/16 bit using the fender as template, needle nose pliers to bend over the staple ends. Also, I found the stainless steel staples way too hard to bend, made my own from steel wire same thickness.

Re: 65 dust shield install ?
i clamp the new rubber shields to the inner skirt, then from outboard the skirt, i drill a pair of holes(use a bit a tad larger than the original fiberglass holes )thru the fiberglass's original holes and the new rubber shield. then insert the staple and bend the ends with thin needle nose pliers. repeat for all the staple holes in the inner skirt. mike- Top
