    Early 1963 Powerglide

I have what I believe to be the original powerglide in my early 1963 Corvette. Pan stamp fits for my car and dial casting on left side of case shows "62", which would be correct for the year. Transmission guy tells me the case is wrong though, since the converter housing does not have four large holes in it and lower converter shield does not have air scoop. He claims any Powerglide without external fluid cooler (such as early 1963 Corvettes) should have the holes and scoop for air cooling of the converter. Is he right?

Doug, yours does not have the external cooler? I'm not in front of my 63 JG, but I thought all automatic 63's had the external cooler???? It shows it in the AIM right? Maybe he's thinking passenger car Powerglide?

One caveat though, the pan is where the date code is, but that could have been swapped to another transmission somewhere in time.

edit: I just looked and I see up to apx vin 6500 they didn't have the cooler. I didn't know that.
