Can someone post pix of the location of the tranny tag and differential code from a 69 (automatic)? I know what the codes mean, but want to be sure of their location when I put it up on a lift. Thanks from "Not a major wrencher".

Re: pix of 69 tranny tag and differential code
Photos below of the THM400 tag (passenger side of the case - this one's a neighbor's '71 LS-6) and a typical differential stamping - it's stamped on the rough-cast surface on the bottom flange of the diff, between the camber strut bracket and the spring retaining plate - will probably need heavy cleaning to see it.- Top

Re: pix of 69 tranny tag and differential code
You had to post a CY trans tag John. Nothing like hard to find parts in pictures on the TDB.Of course I have no transmission tags to post. The stamped VIN derivative is on the driver's side just above the pan rail about where the rubber boot for the shift linkage is. You may have to move the linkage a little to see the stamp. Just push on it with your hand, no big deal.
Differential codes are hard to see on C3s with under car exhaust, side exhaust not so much.Terry- Top
