'62 rad, gloss or semigloss?

Hi,
My '62 is an April build, and the JG says all rads were gloss black after mid '61? Mine is the original but has probably been repainted, it is presently flat/semi, should I paint it gloss while its out of the car?

I wouldn't want to add yet another coat of paint on top of what's already there; could affect the radiator's heat transfer efficiency.

Probably right John, like I said I suspect that it's the original, better to leave well enough alone...

The aluminum replacement I bought from Dewitt's was semi gloss. Might check with them.

For what it's worth, an attached picture of the new DeWitts in my 62 installed a couple of years ago.

Daniel what is the build date of your 62?
Mine is mar but has no harrison plate on it.

My 62 is 102090, so I would guess around the first week or so of October, '61.
