Is it my car only !

Hi, had to take off wheels today, to paint wheel wells and one of my original steel rims needed to be made round. Too many late nights hitting curbs in my younger days.

Question. When ever I jack up my car, ( front center under motor or rear under differential ) I have to jack the car up higher to get a jack stand under the passenger side , to equal the same height as the jack stand under the driver side.

The car actually looks like it leans to the passenger side until I let it down on stands, ( stands are put in same spot on both sides)

Is it my car or are C2' off balance? I know they are not symmetrical.

    Jack,

never thought about it but the motor is off set to the passenger side 2-3 inches so that could be the cause.

Jack -- same thing just the other day, with my '65 coupe. I jacked from the center of the front X-member, and I thought I had the jack in the exact middle, but I had to pump enough to get the driver wheel about 1" off the garage floor before the passenger wheel could turn without rubbing on the cement. Thought nothing of it, but Rich's explanation makes sense.

Good to hear it is not me or my car. It has always done it, but I was in a curious mood and thought I was ask if others had noticed the lean.
