Third Break lights on 1992 coupe

Third break light is not working. Have checked the fuses, replaced the socket and bulb - any Ideas on what is going on?

Have you verified that you have 12vdc going to the HMSL when the brakes are applied? If not, I'd start there and trace back to where the wire originates, assuming the regular brake lights work.

Check out the brake light switch, my 89 had the same problem. The 3rd light power source is a "second" switch inside the regular switch.

I spent 10 hours tracing leads looking for something wrong and in frustration opened up service manual saw the diagnostic on that light failure. Bought the $9 switch and all is well. So much time spent on such a simple fix!
