Re: T Top and Heat Question
Hi Mike !
I know I have seen some of the static film that works pretty good. Can't recall the vendor that offered them right now.Tom Hendricks

Re: T Top and Heat Question
Mike,
Like Tom said, we use the static film in many cars, trucks, and SUVs. We have a restriction on how dark it can be. There's an art to installing it, but I consider it a DIY job. The best installation involves spraying soapy water on the outside of the glass, laying the film on the outside of the glass, squeegee out the air, trim the film, clean the inside of the glass and spray soapy water on it, remove the film from the outside and carefully position it on the inside, squeegee out the air and do your final trim. There are other ways to install it but this gives a professional job, IMHO. Don't pick too dark of a color and don't do the windshield.

Re: T Top and Heat Question
Mike when I purchased a new 1986 with glass tops I had the same problem. No one offered anything at the time so I cut foam board to fit and fashoned some thin stainless steel clips bent in a Z form to go under the rubber seal and under the foam board to hold it in place then I painted it black on the bottom. You could paint it you interior color also. It sure improved the heat problem and could be changed out in seconds. Now you can probably get a commercial board and hand bend the clips and do the same thing. May seem a little Bubba but it works and did not look bad at all. Ed- Top

Re: T Top and Heat Question
Mike, How about the windshield fold out reflectors. Used when you park the car. maybe you can purchase one of those and cut to fit, to reflect the heat away? install with the two sided tape.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

Re: T Top and Heat Question
Another approach is just to pick up a set of standard T-tops. Makes a huge difference in driving a C-4 vs the see-thru top.Bill Clupper #618- Top

Have a set painted to match your car and use them to drive with. Keep your glass ones for show.Vice-Chairman (West), Michigan Chapter NCRS
