    '65 Wheel weights

I would appreciate if someone could post pictures of correct '65 wheel weights. I have no idea what these look like and would need this for reference. Also does anyone know if these are readily available from a source/supplier.
    Thanks

    Hi Phillip !

Seems to me there was an article in the restorer not to long ago on this very subject. Maybe somebody will chime in with the issue for you.

There were several suppliers with Micro being at least ONE of the bunch... In general, judges simply look for the weights to be of correct configuration and embossed ONLY in SAE (ounce) vs. today's dual SAE/Metric (ounce/gram) designation.

Yeah, you can find originals being sold by various folks on eBay as well as 'correct' but actually incorrect weights in catalogs like Paragon. What's wrong with the Paragon part? Well, it IS embossed with the Micro source ID, but it complies to current day standards by having both ounce and gram designators on it.

For the 'correct/original' weights from eBay, expect to BEND over on price! From what I've seen they ask $10 PER WEIGHT for them...

What have others done? Well, shop around your neck of the woods for the oldest tire/wheel man around. He generally 'saves' the old weights he's pulled off wheels over the years and for a modest fee, they'll sort their 'pile' when they do your wheel balance to give you ounce only embossed weights IF you ask/negotiate...

Don't forget that knock off wheels used different wheel weights than steel wheels. The original question did not specify which type of wheel.

Here are pics of a set of NOS 1 oz knock off wheel weights (not for sale). These are quite rare so finding one may be a problem. If you are able to locate one, you could just use it on the spare for judging.
