    radiator cap '65

Is my radiator cap from my expantion tank original for my '65 327/300 Hp no air.
If it's not, what car does it belong to.

    Thanks,
    Twan #44079

It's definitely not an original cap for a 65 Vette. Not sure of the origin.

Twan - The radiator pressure cap as pictured is a newer AC RC15/15LB cap. The original cap on your 65 would have been an AC 307/13LB cap and been a zinc plated steel cap with larger "ears," not a STAINLESS cap with the smaller "ears." The cap should function OK on your car as all the small block Corvettes went to a 15LB cap in 1966 although it was a RC26/15LB cap and had aluminum components under the cap. There is a newer version of the RC26/15LB cap that is STAINLESS like the STAINLESS RC15/15LB cap you have and as far as I know the only differences between the STAINLESS RC26/15LB cap and the STAINLESS RC15/15LB cap is the stamping in the right-hand circle on the cover. What you have is a typical GM service replacement cap (SS with the 'Inspect Spring & Fall emboss)...
