    1969 mufflers

The car is a 69 427/390. I've replaced the exhaust system with one from Volunteer (2 1/2"). It's a good system and fit's well but it's a little too quiet. I'm looking for a 'bolt-on' replacement muffler with a little more rumble. So far I've found the Dynamax Super Turbo muffler as a 'bolt-on' replacement. Anyone have any experience with these...or any other thoughts?
    Thanks...Bill

Bill, I have a set on my modified L-82 and have for quite awhile. They sound nice, good rumble low and "healthy" at mid to high rpm's. The car is used as an autocrosser, track days and street car. I like the quality and fit, no problems at all. Previously I had a complete Monza system and I like these as well. The car was chassis dynoed with these and a couple of other mufflers and these came out on top for torque and HP. If I can find my chassis dyno sheets I will post. I would buy again.

How about the relatively recent N11 off-road exhaust made to GM blueprint specs and offered through Corvette Central? It looks like they're offering just the mufflers now, as opposed to the entire exhaust system.

The information on the page at the link below says the N11 exhaust was available as an option from 1964 through 1968, and the design allows them to be used on model years 1963 through 1972.

      Rumble-factor should be excellent

I have the Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers on my 68 427/390. Nice, muscle car rumble without the resonance. They also flow as good or better than anything out there.

I bought a set of '68 N-11's, when they were still available from GM, and they sound like a Corvette exhaust should. Not too loud, but definitely not the standard '72 BB sound

Does this mean that the N-11 mufflers's are noticably louder than the original factory equipped '72 BB Corvette mufflers?
