Repop tires for a 63

Can anyone tell me what the deduction is for new Coker reproduction tires on a 63?

HI Mike, I assume you have the Judging Reference Manual. Look in section 4. Item 3. Tires. This is one area where you can really save 1000's of bucks when pushing the points.
I don't know the Coker tire details but it looks like you would only get a Deduct of 10%.
Worst scenario would be a 20% deduct for some of the repro tires.
My manual is the 7th edition. Need to pick up the new 8th edition at Corvette Carlisle as it's the bible you know.

Those of you that don't have this manual are missing the boat. JD

you lose THREE points for the four tires on the ground - hopefully, you have a NON-DOT tire in the spare tire tub

Michael,

no problem - reproduction tires have a "standard deduction" of 10% of originality, as long as they are "correct" in all areas, except for having the DOT stamp - everyone should buy the latest Judging Reference Manual - Edition 8, I believe

Michael, I never questioned anyone from NCRS as to why the deduct is only a mere 10%. But let me guess that it's a safety issue more than anything.
Can you imagine going for a ride down the interstate running a set of NOS tires!!! Scary thought at best.

Good point, John, I did have a few blowouts on the freeway with bias-ply tires when they were new. Not fun. Can't imagine that 48 years on a shelf would improve the situation any.
