    59 Hardtop Restoration

I'm getting ready to restore my 59 hardtop and would like to know who makes the best replacement windows for this application.I'm also wondering who makes the best rubber products for this top.I know this is a matter of opinion, buy any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Re: 59 Hardtop Restoration

    Stephen,

I have the same situation with my 1960 restoration project. Hardtop needs restoration. I have not done it yet, but my research shows that Glassworks is probably one of the best sources. I intend to do the restoration myself and they have complete kits to restore the top.

But as I said, I only know what I know from research on this site and others. No actual experience.

The best was Ted Kokolis. He passed this past week in that terrible plane accident in PA.

I like his parts the best.

This is his website. He was the owner of the HardtopShop but started another company for personal reasons.

Stephen, As mentioned my good friend is no longer with us.
I was just going to post some info on Ted Kokolis when I saw your request.

The first item Ted ever reproduced was the hardtop rear window. Now I don't know what year that was as I didn't meet Ted until 1989 and at that time he had already been reproing the rear glass.

            See memorial info above. John

                Steve,
Charlie B. rebuilt his hardtop and it turned out very nice.
Check with him at our meeting next week about where he got his parts.
I believe he bought the complete kit at Carlisle.

It's now your job to make sure he comes to the meeting.
