67 intake surface refinishing advise

The shop that is assembling my 67 L71 told me the new judging guidlines state that the intake should be painted silver with no orange overspray.

I was so suprised to hear that. I told them to hold up until I could get the advise from some of the experts on this forum. Any thoughts???

I don't know what the "shop" is using for a reference, but it's wrong. Your '67 JG states clearly for big-blocks with aluminum manifolds, "Aluminum intakes are natural in color, with possible traces of engine color."

I agree with John. The shop is probably confused with a L79 which has been discuss at lenght on this forum. The L79 has a trace of silver around the bolts to stop the bare metal on the heads from rusting.
