    Corvette Museum 20 Year Pin

Today I received a 20 year membership pin & certificate from the NCM. I have been a member of NCRS for over 25 years & we get no recognition. I know that we discussed this on here before but I still think a 25 year pin ETC. is not too much to ask. They give hats, pins to the judges why not the long time members that were here in the day when Corvettes were not that popular. I would glady pay for one if money is a problem. Just a Thought.

I think it would be cool too, but in reality, the stuff I learn here is my reward ! The longer I have been around, the smarter I should be because of it !! Aint no pin make up for smarts !!

BTW Ken ! Congrats on the 20 year Museum Pin ! Thanks for supporting the hobby and the museum.

When was that? The last time I heard of was about 1954 or 55.

Yeah, I did. Too bad. Mike was a great guy and he had some neat cars.

In the mid 70'S & early 80'S when the new Corvettes of that era could not get out of there own way & no conv. When C-1'S &2'S were 2000 to 4000. Stand alone Corvette shows were not very common till Bloomington. Yes there were some of us 25/30 or more years ago but not like now.

Many years ago, NCRS sent long time members a key fob. That was cool. Silly me, I actually used it, and now it's pretty ratty.

Back when the club was 25 years young all of us got an NCRS decal with the year we joined. I still see one now and then at some of the meets.

Didn't we get a free 10th ann. of the club tee shirt or am I dreaming. When did NCRS let us C2/C3 lovers in? Early 80'S I think for the C-2. I know there was a big blow up when they voted to let in the C-2 Corvettes in & some members quit & formed a C-1 club.

Ken's right. I remember the bad old days like '79 when GM could only sell 53,000 Corvettes.

Did you buy one? They did have 195HP. How many of those peope belong to NCRS? PS better than 75 when they had165 HP. LOL The cars were not Corvettes the were just cars for GM,Interiors fell apart,& were cheap. I know you don't want to hear it but those cars were a piece of crap. Try to get the 10,000.00 price out of one now,

                            Ken,

They were the best and only Corvettes made at that that time, and were the best/fastest/coolest/most powerful US-made sports car, period.

If poor build quality and low HP makes them 'lesser' Corvettes in your eyes, you must really hate early C1s.

Did I own one? No. At the time I was still d*cking around with British cars and bikes thinking that reliability was just around the corner and achievable uhhh tomorrow.

                            It's all about perspective.

Ken -- don't knock the 1979s. I am pretty sure our president Vito owns one, and you might get disciplined or worse for dissing them. How's your knee caps and galoshes?
