    1972 Hood is stuck

LH Hood latch is jammed. How can I access the vertical lever that is part of the LH female latch?
Anyone have a good procedure to do this job?
    Thanks,
    Tom

Remove the left side eggcrate grille. Then just reach up and pull the release latch. I went in there for the first time on my '72 to replace the vacuum hoses on the evaporative cannister and was surprised how easy it was to get to that. And I swore that I would remember that...just in case.

FYI, there are two phillips head screws holding the upper part of the side grille in. But FIRST remove the nut that is on the stud holding in the lower part of the grille, otherwise it will want to fall out and could damage your paint (or damage the fiberglass ledge of the recess that its in). You can see the nut on the stud by peering under there with a flashlight, and reach it with an extension. Good luck.
