To get info from them you have to find a cop that is in auto theft & this was back in the day. Bet it is harder now. ...
Ken -- that's my impression as well. Back in 1992, a friend had a friend in the police who asked NATB (same as NICB ?) to look up the last two '65's. The info was relayed to me over the phone, so no hard copy. I think the documents also had to do with carrier insurance, and that the transport companies therefore also had a copy [which they may still have stored away to this day]. I'm thinking of Kansas City & Southern railway, who transported vehicles to the southern states, at least.

They are the same. I think the name was changed. Back in the 50's/60's most cars in the Midwest went by truck & were a easy mark for auto thieves. I think a lot of Corvettes were stole & sold for parts . In Indy there was a ring that could strip a vet in 5 mi. & Left them up on blocks. People parked them on the street at night.

That's fine, that's all we need to order our "aged" window sticker.

I called a friend of mine that retired from NATB/NCIB with over 30 years service. The information you reference is all that was in the database when he retired quite a few years ago.

Re: Corvette Delivery Data - The real Story?

mrs clem who worked at the dealership as office manager/ title clerk for 15 years told me that they only keep the sales records for 10 years and then into the dumpster as storing all that paperwork cost money and took up space.

                Clem,

You're absolutely right about dealerships keeping info for ten years. I believe they are required to so by law. After ten years it's in the trash if the dealer doesn't want to keep it. The law might be the same for some DMVs. For example, Wisconsin is only required (by state law) to keep vehicle info for ten years. After ten years it's purged.

                    Loren,

Ever the more reason to release the shipping weight and Horse power.

Between a fake trim tag and fake paper work, these C2's can be a real PITA. Although there is a test for the artifical ageing of paper..lol.

Edward - I did not understand what you meant by "Also the validation serv.

I think people are underestimating to value of this info. If someone was making up fake doc. & didn't know where the corvette came from & now you can now check it out it would be great. Also a good place to start the hunt for the other owners. The two cars I had checked out were what the previous owner said it was about where it came from.
