Re: 93 LT1 Oil Filter
Joe, I am no expert, but what from what I have learned all filters for what years you are asking about came from the factory as black. When the first oil change came about, the black oil filter was thrown away and a replacement blue one was installed.
Again, as I have been told the label containing DURAGAURD was used on a off and on basis.
I am enclosing two photos for you of the PF51 Black Oil Filter. . One has the DURAGUARD label and one does not. This black PF51 oil filter was used until sometime in December 1994. This also causes a disagreement with the Judging Manual for 94-96 and also all other references to the correct oil filter for 1995. The other references for 1995 call for a PF 52. I have the oil filter without the DURAGUARD label. It came off a LT1 built in November of 1994. I have a second day of production (August 4) 1994 built unit and therefore the Black PF 51 is applicable to my unit.
I have been able to upload the second photo as I am told that I had used that photo in another thread and I don't know how to upload it now. I changed the title and no luck, so please email me at fulassoc@comast.net and I will send you the second photo.Attached FilesPAT, Central New Jersey and Florida Chapters
