    Re: Corvettes at Carlisle.

Just got back from Carlisle with my son as well. Had a great time for our FIRST visit there. I won't take any credit for the good weather, but I submit it may have been our close fellow NCRS members that we lost recently smiling down on us.

Sorry I missed you Tom H.. I found your spot, or so I thought, but another fellow had his car there (CB-131). Perhaps I'm too new at finding my way around there. Saw Rick A's. cars at ZIP Products, but he was not around. Clem Z. had left already, but at least I found John D's. booth and had a nice chat with him face to face for a change. I enjoyed meeting you John.

We drove back to Dulles Saturday night and took in the new Aviation Muesum there this morning.

Great time, great Vettes, great weather, great people - and the food wasn't bad either. Look forward to coming up again next year already.

Well I did the right thing as business was brisk for the vendors around me and none of them had any complaints.
The Millers and family sure know how to put on a show. My thanks go out to them.
It should was nice to see so many NCRS members at the show. One of them bought a nice NOS set of curb feelers in the original dark brown box. Now I am not exactly sure which Corvette the good MD is gonna put those on. Word has it he might put them on one of his farm tractors.
Yeah it was a great show albeit a little too much work for old JD here. With My Marine gone I need to enlist a good helper.
Bruce was at the show looking for '4360 parts.
        John,
No 4360 parts but I did find a nice 57 hubcap to replace a tired one.
By the way, I got to meet Lyle Davidson with whom I have talked to on the phone a number of times. A very nice young guy who has learned a lot from you. Good to see a young guy working on FI.

As everyone has said, great weather, great cars, great friends.

Does it get any better than this 100 acre treasure hunt? Finding battery caps for my '73 hiding in a cardboard junk box. Discovering a perfect pair of original dated t-top bags underneath a stack of new ones. Snagging a drivers side rocker molding (with tab!) as the vendor's closing down and putting it in his truck.

And then to top it all off, the parade. I followed a '58 in my supercharged '05

There was a red '74 that traded a few burnouts with me after some encouragement from the locals

Can't wait til next year to do it all over again!

That was my spot. I gave it to the guy with the blue 63. I ended up selling both of the cars I took early on Friday, so I was out of business early !! Spent all day Saturday trying to find all of you guys !!

Sorry for anybody that tried to look me up to find the empty spot. I never know if my cars will sell on Friday or Saturday. This year was a good Friday.

I missed Carlisle this year. My son Billy was to get leave from the Marines and meet me there on his way home from North Carolina and as luck would have it his unit was called up and the long leave was canceled. last weekend We drove down to spend the weekend with him. He will be gone until May but hopefully we will make it next year. He has been my Carlisle partner sence he learned to walk.

                    Tom,

Very nice to meet you! So, how did you get home?

I got a pretty good offer on the 72 and let it go as well on Saturday morning!

There were a lot of empty hands walking around but a few were there to buy!

Be careful you might get your post deleted because you mentioned Roy's name. NCRS is like the Amish you get shunned if you break any of the rules & you can't speak their name. LOL but I am not.

Sounds like this was not a good Carlisle to miss. Couldn't make it this year or last, but it's in the plans for next year already. At least, if/when I sell my 35-year collection of gas caps, no one can accuse me of stealing them at Carlisle!
Sorry I missed so many of you, my long-time friends!

Maybe I should take them to Carlisle next year.
