    69 under body insulation

I just purchased some under body insulation and it foil faced on one side and yellow insulation on the other. I have a July, 1969 SB car. Question: Is the foil face down(assume so)..... and was I wrong in buying the insulation? It just does not seem to be right. Has any body install them? Any hints would be helpful.

When I rebuilt the car I put the tunnel insulation in. This insulation seems that it would conflict with it.

    Thanks Joe

Joe, if your talking about the 2 part toe board heat sheilds would think that its the same as the tunnel insulation ,foil down.

What is left of my original factory insulation under the body on my 1968, the foil is on the bottom.

The foil goes on the bottom. However, my September, 1969 built car was built without ANY of the foil-backed foam insulation except for the transmission tunnel.

            Joe
My '69 BB was built in early April, before the strike. The original insulation (what was left of it) was in the tunnel as well as under both floor pans and toe boards. I got my reproduction insulation and white plastic toe boards from Paragon. Here are some pictures, the last one includes the re-parkerized floor pans. The insulation is a struggle to fit and it tears easily, especially around the pointed retaining clips. Therefore I ended up getting some aluminum foil tape from Home Depot to patch up the indiscretions (don't tell anybody) so it looks better and lasts longer. Don't forget the foam collar between the bellhousing and the tunnel.
