What is out there that can be used to delineate the changeover from the 908 distributor to the 914? I am aware of a '58 original motor (15XX VIN) car that has a 908 (for which I have mislaid the code) and I have a 914 that is dated stamped "7 M 6". What estimates are out there?

I'm not sure if this will help you with your question, but I have a 908 distributor with a 7L14 date code. I am pretty sure this distributor was used in production because the housing has areas of silver paint overspray near where the housing seats on the intake manifold.

Loren, was just looking at pictures of Jim Blanchards Jan 58 290 HP car and it still has the 908 dist. in it. FI unit is 4900R sn 1939. This is the old Jan Berry 58. Can't read the dist. date but Jim should be able to get it for us.1964 Red FI Coupe, DUNTOV '09
