K-19 was required for all 1966 California Corvettes except L72. It was required for all 1967 Corvettes except, POSSIBLY, L-88.

I believe 1966 was the first year.

Should The Order Copy (tank Sticker) List K-19?

1966 was the first year for smog equipment on the Corvettes delievered to California. It was on the 327's and the 427/390 but not on the 427/425 cars.

Assuming that the original selling dealer was Harry Mann Chevrolet, then the car should have shown K-19 on the order copy and window sticker. Although mandatory for California-delivered Corvettes for the 1967 model year, it was an extra cost option and not part of standard equipment, per se.

FWIW--my 67 base-motor convertible was sold new in Alhambra--it has K-19 on the tank sticker.

Do you have a photo of the tank sticker? Maybe we could figure it out better. Are you sure the expected date of production is 1-27-67?

Is this good news for my 1967 435 HP 427? It is a california car and when I bought it in 1971 I thought the smog pump was removed.
I am ready to order new manifolds now as the car had headers on it that I rejected when I bought the car SALVAGE from JD Corvette in paromount.
OK experts whats the verdict? make my day.

What is the engine suffix? If it's JA, then it should have A.I.R.

                        Robert,
It's a CE engine thats in the car. I was hoping that the 435 hp was exempt as one of the previouse post implied.

I think the previous posts were referring to the 1966 427/425 L-72s. So the 67's had no exceptions for California cars. What I don't know is what would happen with a car brought into the state by a California dealer who would purchase new cars from out of state dealers.

The only POSSIBLE K-19 exception for 1967 Corvettes delivered to California was L-88. I don't know if they were required to have K-19, or not. Of course, there were only a total of 20 L-88's built for 1967 and I expect that not more than 3 or 4 were ever delivered new to California. 1967 L-71 was DEFINITELY required to have K-19 for California. I remember very well that, when new, every L-71 that I saw here in California had it (or evidence of it being removed).
