    John------

I can't tell you what they are, but I can tell you what they're not. What they're not is a Corvette pan. During the 1955-96 period only 75-79 Corvettes used a side drain and neither of these pans is a 75-79 Corvette pan (which, incidentally, was the same as small block Camaro and some passenger cars).

The first pan might be some passenger car or light truck pan from 1955 to about 1963. However, I don't see any dipstick relief. Even those pans with a pan-mounted dipstick tube usually had a relief, so I don't know what this is. Maybe 348???

The second pan, I have no idea. I don't think this is even a Chevrolet pan. I have no idea what its application is. Might be Ford?

John -- your first pan is the spitting image of my 396 Passenger pan (off a 361 2-bolt block, T0607LF). Probably Gr 1.426 # 3871282, replaced by # 3902371 on 4-67. Could take pics if needed.
      -----------------
Humble correction Didn't notice that your front timing cover-to-oil pan seal surface does NOT have the bolt hole (deleted sometime around 21st Dec 1966, in conjunction with a redesigned front seal with a waffle pattern on oil pan side [shows in your pic].) So maybe your pan is the "371" part #.
