    Have you checked your exhaust manifolds for plugs?

    Do you know for sure they were on the car new? Was car restored?

    First check for plugs in the ports. Then the casting date codes/part numbers.

    Has there been ANY motor work? If they replaced head gaskets, etc the exhaust manifolds would have been removed, are the french locks in places and as rusted as the rest of the manifold?

      The best and easiest check on K-19 is the engine suffix code. If the code is "IM" or "IR", then the car originally had K-19. If not, it didn't.

      It's possible that the same vacuum tube clip was used for some, or maybe even all, L-36 applications. I've never really paid that much attention to this part on 66-67 L-36. Presumably, it would have been part of the engine "bill of materials" for "IM" and "IR"-coded engines and not for other engines. Even if that was the case, that does not mean that the workers at Tonawanda might not have used the "with K-19" clip for "non K-19" engines.
