    Ken,

I'm considering a device from Ravelco in my Trailblazer SS. They claim that a car has never bee stolen by bypassing their system.

Perhaps a stopgap measure but via Dale's idea I now chain my car to the garage floor. A big chain is wrapped over and around the right rear half shaft then attached to a 1/4 inch thick bracket bolted down on the garage floor. A big lock completes the 'system'.

While I agree with the 'if they want it they'll get it' maxim..............they're gonna have to work a little harder (and longer) to get past the chain.

It has both exterior and interior radar zones that will alarm the guy getting near or in the car. It has a battery backup for the guy that uses the NCRS battery cutoff switch to disable the alarm, and it has a pager that calls me when the alarm goes off so I can show them my Colt 45. But Patrick’s story of the guy with his own ignition switch and key is a real threat. I’m going to fix the starter cut relay, as that will stop him from driving off with the alarm blaring.
I have 'LoJack' and their "Early Warning System" which is a small black fob that goes on the car key ring. If the car is moved 100 feet without the real key and EWS fob, an alarm goes off at LoJack and they contact you on your computer, home phone or cell phone. If you call them back and say you have your keys but not with the car, that sets off the LoJack transmitter and notify local Police. as well as your calling the police which together means the car is up on the police cars radar that much faster.

It won't stop the thieves, but their on a short leash and their being hunted as they drive away. I think as the theft experts say "If they want your car, nothing will stop them." Sad but realistic in todays environment.
Each day is a gift, respect it, and enjoy it as if it were the last!

          Anthony -

The key phrase there is "by bypassing their system". It'll stop an amateur, but a pro with a rollback doesn't even bother with the ignition system - he just hauls it on and splits.
