1969 Muncie Fill Plug

I have 69 350/350 numbers matching car and was looking at the fill plug on the transmission. The transmission still has the small aluminum tag with the number 3946798 stamped on it. The fill plug is brass and not like the plug one would expect to see make of cast iron with a square head. I did pick up a plug at Carlisle that has a W with a _ under the W. Any examples of original cars with original plugs and markings would be appreciated.

The one you found at Carlisle is a typical headmarking of the period for these plugs. However, while the brass one you have installed might not be "correct", functionally it might be the way to go. The original-type cast iron or steel plugs often seize; there should be no concern of that with the brass plug. I expect that's why someone once installed it.
