Correct '64 PB Booster Part Number

I have a 64 fuelie with power brakes and tired, non-original booster. At B Gold I bought a new repro booster from Lonestar. The part number stamped into the pad was 4311. Checking the judging guide (pg123) I saw the correct number was 4310. Went back to Ken at Lonestar. He said he thought 4311 was correct but sent me another unit stamped 4310 (he's a good guy).

Yesterday I met with a friend and we compared our cars-two silver '64 fuelie roadsters built two months apart. His is a top flight car (recent regional) and Duntov. This was great fun (but he refused a run-off). Anyway, he believes his booster is original and is stamped 4311. While I am not questioning the judging guide I find it odd to find his 4311 and Lonestar believing that is the correct number. Can anyone comment on 4311; was this thought to be the correct number years ago?

Have an original 64 booster, 4311 and a Julian date of 296 on oposite tab at about 5 oclock.

There were four different part number brake boosters used over the 1963 to 1967 period. Here they are:

      1963-------GM #5462110

      1964-------GM #5464311

      1965-66----GM #5467011

      1967--------GM #5458832

So from what the two of you have said, 4311 is right and the judging manual, listing 4310, is wrong?? Wow, that's interesting. It would be good to have further comment....anyone who helped write the '64 judging manual???

It's not impossible that some of the boosters were stamped '4310'. There might have been some slight variation between a GM #5464310 (IF it existed) and GM #5464311 (FOR INSTANCE, one was supplied to PRODUCTION with a check valve and the other not). So, it's POSSIBLE that some were originally stamped '4310'. However, based upon the part number we KNOW, at least some WERE stamped '4311'.
