    Thanks.
I would buy the reagent test strips from Wix, NAPA, Carquest and test the coolant. The strips will show you the PH, additive level, and freeze protection level. I have run antifreeze 10 years using the additive with no problems. This is a very common practice in large fleets also

That's a good idea. I doubt cars that sit for the majority of their time, in a garage, would need very frequent changes. Is it just time or "heat&wear" time that breaks down the additives?

Michael, This entirely depends upon the condition of your cooling passages of the block, and all external components.

I used the Prestone Radiator Flush, in the small yellow plastic jug. It seemed to work fine.

I like RMI-25. I get it on-line. You might want to Google it.

                  Mike,
I recently replaced my radiator with a new Dewitts one (you were nice enough to post a reply to my post and had some great suggestions for me when it came to turning the radiator before removing it). I read the archive posts on Zerex and called the company and spoke with an engineer to make sure it was compatible and would "mix" with any remaining green antifreeze in my engine. They said it will be fine and will mix fine. I simply mixed a couple of gallons of it with distilled water in a 50/50 combo and poured it in. Good luck with your project...Regards

Great! I also had some left over DexCool orange stuff in my engine, as I didn't want to go to the hassle of removing the drain plugs, but yes that is OK. Glad yours is moving along, I'm now dealing with the radio and speaker .
