1964 brake pedal hole. Top or bottom ?

I have coverted my 64 from standard to power brakes and would like to know which hole in the brake pedal is correct for the power brake. Top or bottom hole ? The standard brakes used the top hole in the pedal. Does that mean that the power brakes use the bottom hole? Thanks. David Lange.

    Dave,

What does your assembly manual indicate?

my 64 power brake car has the rod on in the bottom hole. the upper hole has a bolt thar holds a metal tab that the brake light switch rests on,not sure if tab was there from factory or previous owner put there to make contact with brake light switch button. richard

          Richard,

Mine has the same "contact tab" on my '66 PB car. Tab as one would guess engages the brake light switch. Sounds like it's solved David.

              David -

See your Assembly Manual, section J50, sheet 3.00; shows the clevis in the bottom hole and the bolt-on striker for the brake light switch in the top hole.
