Got a few questions for my '65

A few months ago my clutch pedal drop down on the floor, "once again a wonderful repair made by previous owners/lover"
I know that the pedal ass. usually is been pressed on the shaft but I have a bad feeling to do this again. anyone knows a nice way what to do?
Also I will replace my "nice sparkeling" chrome oilpan for an original 327 sb one, looking on my AIM-sheeds there is no information on what order to screw to the screws and what tork?

    Thanks,
    Twan # 44079

Twan -- here's a link to previous thread on that clutch shaft problem; see also a secondary link in one of the posts. My original '65 shaft was just press-fit onto the pedal arm, but my NOS GM replacement was also tack-welded, so they must have known there was a design problem.

      Twan -

Those oil pan screws are 1/4"-20 thread, and typical torque for that size screw is 50 inch-pounds; that's 5.6 Newton-Meters.

If you had a proper shop manual set for your car - the 1963 Corvette Shop Manual and the 1965 Supplement, you would have oil pan torque specs along with everything else that is subject to disassembly for service in the field.

Many parts shipped to St. Louis were done so as sub-assemblies, such as engines, transmissions, axles, and complete front knuckle assemblies including all the brake hardware, so the only torque specs are for attaching the complete knuckle assembly to the control arms.

The AIM is very useful, but everyone also needs a complete shop manual set for their cars, which are readily available from numerous vendors and even NCRS.
