C4 Tire replacement question

I just purchased a 1994 coupe with 21,000 original miles and I need to replace the original tires. Can anyone give me a good tire replacement to buy. The original goodyear GS-C tire is no longer available? Thanks in advance, Larry

Hi Larry !!!

You will get all sorts of opinions on this. I assume your car is the 285 255 combination, as most were. I have used Firestone, Kumho and B F Goodrich tires on C4's all with good luck. Not sure how you are using the car, but for standard driving, any of the major brands should do ya good.

Thanks Tom,
My 94 will be a daily driver and I was looking at the available tires on the internet and there seems to only be a few tire brands available for my stock rims. The ones I found available don't even come close to the original tread design except the goodyear GS-C EMT and some people I've talked to say that this is a very exspensive tire and being it is an EMT tire, it tends to be a hard riding tire.

I have also experienced some difficulty finding tires for C4's lately too. Let me check the shop records tomorrow and see what the last few sets I installed on C4's were. I'll get you the brand and series as well as where we got them.
